Kera F., Director of Nursing

I am Kera, the Director of Nursing for Kingman Behavioral Health.  I began my employment with Hickory in July of 2024. I am a registered nurse with 24 years of experience in the medical profession and 16 years of nursing experience. I entered the nursing profession as I had a personal experience with a medical emergency involving one of my daughters. The compassion and empathy that was provided to myself and my family inspired me to want to provide the same positive experiences for my patients. This is why I have chosen to care for patients in acute crisis. I believe these individuals are underserved and overlooked. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to provide our patients with empathy, compassion, and the right set of circumstances to make life-altering changes to enhance their futures. This profession has allowed me the opportunity to become passionate about teaching my patients and developing professional relationships with individuals who may have no other source of support. Besides being a nurse, I am a mother of four children and five fur children. I enjoy spending my time traveling and fulfilling my passion for being a Disney adult. One of my bucket list items includes visiting all the Disney World theme parks throughout the world.

Nancy A., Primary Therapist

My influence in deciding to become a therapist began during my career in law enforcement.  I transitioned into therapy after witnessing many individuals being judicially punished for SUD. I believe a clinical setting with compassionate therapy offers a more promising approach for those needing help rather than punishment.
In July 2024, I chose to join Hickory Behavioral Center because of its mission statement and the genuine connection I felt with the interview team. My path to becoming a Primary Therapist at Kingman Hickory Behavioral Center follows over eight years of experience and education, including an M.A. and M.S. and a LASAC license. At Hickory, I value the privilege of accompanying individuals on their journeys to more fulfilling lives. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and love to travel. Through my dedication and passion, I strive to make a significant impact, one journey at a time.

Stormie B., Primary Therapist

My name is Stormie and I am a Primary Therapist at Hickory Recovery Network in Kingman. I have been with Hickory since July of 2024. I have worked in the substance abuse and mental health field for the last 11 years. I completed my practicum through Grand Canyon University with a Master’s in Addiction Counseling (Lopes Up!), and I obtained my licensure in June of 2016. Carl Rogers and his person-centered theory inspired me to enter this field. I knew I wanted to work in the helping field but was having trouble deciding which area.
The thought of being able to walk alongside someone during their journey, not telling them what or how to do it but aiding them in finding what works for them, was intriguing. Recovery and self-actualization are such an individualized process, which led to my gravitation to help those looking to abstain from use disorder behaviors. I enjoy many hobbies, such as desert toys, motorcycle riding, and traveling with our group of road trip warriors.
