Our Treatment Team
Brittney Collins, Executive Director
Brittney is the Executive Director at Hickory Treatment Center in Albion. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the Sociology Department at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN and is currently obtaining her MBA. Brittney has 15+ years of experience in residential treatment, foster care, and outpatient mental health. She is passionate about supporting staff and building strong relationships, ensures a healthy facility where positive change can occur. She is a native of Albion, IN and committed to giving back to the community that she works. Brittney is passionate about assisting both families and communities that are impacted by substance abuse.
Kelly Basham, Director of Nursing
Kelly Basham is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, she is married and has 3 children. She has an identical twin sister. In her spare time, she loves to coach gymnastics. She fell in love with nursing when she helped the hospice nurses take care of her Grandpa at the end of his battle with ALS. Nursing was definitely her calling; she loves to help people get back to a healthier state of being while giving the best patient care that will give the most optimum healthcare outcomes for each patient. She graduated with her BSN from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, and she is currently getting her master’s degree in nursing administration at Walden University. She has spent her nursing career in critical care and is excited to be a part of the Hickory Treatment Center at Albion to help clients find sobriety.
Wesley Lawson, Assistant Director of Nursing
Wesley Lawson BSN, RN is the Assistant Director of Nursing at Hickory Recovery in Albion. He has a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and is working on a master’s degree in Nursing. He moved to Indiana from Ohio in September of 2021. His career consists of 4 years’ experience in mental health and correctional nursing. His career goals include completing his master’s degree and becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. When not working Wesley enjoys spending time at home with his partner Michael, and their German Shephard, Finn. Wesley’s mantra is a quote from Aubrey Hepburn, “Nothing is impossible; the word itself says, ‘I’m possible!’”
Heather Watson, Behavioral Health Technician Manager
Heather has been a dependable, caring, and thoughtful member of Hickory in Albion since first opening. Through her dedication to bring her best everyday Heather has been promoted four time during her tenor with us. Heather believes strongly in the mission and never takes for granted what walking through the employee entrance means. Heather understands the impacts of long-term substance abuse on individuals and families, and she understands that the best thing she can do for those in service is treat them kindly, compassionately, and use the tools of the program to guide them toward personal success.
Kim Merriman, Administrative Assistant
Kim has a wealth of knowledge from previous work experience that includes law and child welfare. She is very solution focused with meeting challenges for our building as well as being solution focused for the unique needs of individuals that we serve. Kim values relationships and rarely is a visitor or local stakeholder not an acquaintance of hers. You can count on a friendly greeting when Kim is at work, but when she is not at work, she enjoys being outside at a horse shows, the lake, or sitting around the bonfire.
Katherine Murphy, LMHC, Clinical Director
Katherine has been a practicing clinician since 2014 and has experience working with a broad range of client populations and utilizing several best practices to meet the needs of those she serves. She is compassionate, forthright, honest and goal oriented in her work with clients. She believes that with a safe space, unconditional positive regard, and a well-designed plan everyone has the capacity to achieve peace and sobriety.
Melissa Sloan, Lead Case Manager

Chanthima Collins, Dietary Manager
Chanthima or Pommy as she is known to us, is from Thailand and moved to the USA at 15. She has a bachelor’s degree with Dietary Manager Training, Serve Safe Certified, and Knife Skills Certification. She enjoys traveling and has done so extensively throughout the world and within the US. She also has many hobbies and loves being in nature. Growing up, she watched her mom cook and loved the particular and precise Thai spices and other authentic ingredients specific to Thai food that she made. Pommy strives to incorporate taste and natural ingredients into every meal that she makes. She loves bring joy into our facility through the delicious meals that she makes. She will always be after the next recipe that leaves an impression and will be loved by others.
Sandy Caskey, Head of Maintenance
Sandy Caskey is the Head of Maintenance at Hickory Recovery in Albion. She has many years of experience working in a variety of roles and maintenance departments. She is a fun, loving and caring person. Family and friends mean a great deal to her especially her grandchildren, who she loves dearly. She is excited to bring her knowledge and skills to the Albion team.
Ashley Yoder, Housekeeping Supervisor
Ashley Yoder is the Housekeeping Supervisor at Hickory Recovery in Albion, and manages an outgoing staff, committed to creating a home-like environment to our short-term residential program. She is an out-going person, who loves helping others. She runs a t-shirt business on the side, loves going to church, concerts, and holding events for the youth or her church. She is thrilled to be a part of the Hickory team.
